Meet Dr. Murzaku
Dr. Era Caterina Murzaku is a highly trained, board-certified dermatologist at the Dermatology Center of Dallas. She enjoys practicing the full range of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, including BOTOX and fillers. Dr. Murzaku is a skilled listener who enjoys forming close relationships with her patients and understanding their individual needs in order to provide custom-tailored treatment plans.
Education and Training
Dr. Murzaku earned her undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University in New Jersey where she graduated as valedictorian. She completed her medical degree at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, graduating at the top of her class. During medical school, she spent time performing melanoma research at New York University, gaining experience in advanced techniques to detect early skin cancer. She completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Pennsylvania before moving to Dallas for her dermatology residency at UT Southwestern. During her final residency year, she served as chief resident at Parkland Hospital and at the Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Research and Development
Dr. Murzaku is a leader among her peers who has published multiple studies in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, and the American Journal of Public Health. Her work has been cited in the Wall Street Journal and the Dermatology Times. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at UT Southwestern, where she teaches residents at Parkland Hospital.
Personal Life
Dr. Murzaku enjoys volunteering her time at the Agape Clinic in Dallas, which provides underserved individuals with access to free health services. In her time off, her interests include spending time with her husband, a physiatrist/interventional spine doctor, and family, travel, spin class, yoga, fashion, and trying new restaurants.
